The following contains a listing of Private Line™ (PL) tones for hospitals. PL tones are Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System (CTCSS) that allows for selective calling to area hospitals while allowing other hospitals to keep their receivers muted for calls that do not involve their hospital. The following are PDF downloads LISTING OF PL's BY HOSPITALLISTING OF PL TONES AND CONTACT FOR REVISION Notes: 1) Hospitals statewide are responsible for having and licensing (hospital-hospital) 155.280 w/ dpl 156 and (ambulance-hospital) 155.340 w/ pl 210.7. They are also responsible for licensing any other frequency they need on a local basis. Some hospitals have 155.400, 155.220 , 155.160 or 155.340 (all with local PL's) that they use for ambulance radio traffic. 2) Executive Director Steve Rauter (firstname.lastname@example.org) from the Western Will County Communications Center (WESCOM) and MABAS-IL TCD Committee Co-Chair has been documenting and coordinating CTCSS tone assignments for IDPH. At this point in time digital dial or DTMF encode/ decode will not be used. We are hoping that by putting CTCSS on the 280 frequency both TRANSMIT and RECEIVE should help eliminate some of the non-hospital traffic. If additional encoding is needed in the future, special signaling may be utilized. 3) All ambulances should have their local hospital frequency or any frequency they may need on a regional basis as well as 155.340 w/210.7Hz CTCSS, the standard state-wide channel and tone for ambulance-to-hospital interoperability. Do not make changes to a MERCI radio, or make decisions solely on the information provided. Verify all PL tones before modifying a radio. Seek expert assistance prior to making changes to any public-safety or ambulance radio.
MABAS (Mutual Aid Box Alarm System) in partnership with IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) have established a statewide, non-discriminatory mutual aid response system for fire, EMS and specialized incident operational teams. Sharing the effort are representatives from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Department of Public Health - EMS Division and Illinois Fire Chiefs Association. The system defines a resource response plan to any location within the state when the Governor orders a Declaration of Disaster. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on January 16, 2001, a first in Illinois history.
